Dynamic Pituitary MRI

Clear and detailed images provided by this procedure can help doctors have an accurate diagnosis

MRI is known as the best method to look at abnormalities of the pituitary gland. Since this gland is small and bone structures, tumors or other growths within and around it are even smaller, it is necessary to undergo a procedure which is capable of providing high-resolution detailed images.

It is of high importance that gadolinium is the contrast dye used in pituitary MRI, which can be taken even by people allergic to iodine or shellfish.

Dynamic pituitary MRI is a great way to search for very small tumors. This procedure provides a series of images taken quickly over a short period of time ( several minutes) after the injection of gadolinium. This type of scan is able to differentiate between the tumors, growths or normal cells.
