Biophysical Profile (BPP)

The biophysical profile is a prenatal test which analyzes the fetus health through a combination of non-stress test and ultrasound. This test is often offered to women with increased risk of problems during pregnancy ( such as those with diabetes, pre-eclampsia, high blood pressure or some other medical conditions). It also plays a key role in checking baby's well-being in case of mother's falling or accident.

 

Moreover, this test is painless and poses no risk to fetus or mother. On the condition that pregnancy's progress and fetal development are normal, it is not necessary to undergo this procedure.

 

Biophysical profile is usually done after the 32nd week of pregnancy, but it can be done earlier if any health conditions need to be taken into consideration…
